Ruben Dario is ubiquitous in Nicaragua. His likeness in statue or picture form greets one regularly. Our students studied his poetry in preparation for their trip. Little did they know that they would come to embody one of his most famous lines through their experience in his country.

It is easy, at this time of year, to succumb to a quotidian rhythm. Grey days begin with the possibility of "rainy day lunch" (in which we sit inside, longing to be outside), and creative energy can fall prey to humdrum routines. Not so at Woodland School!

At Woodland, we emphasize deep understanding over memorization and speed. Lower School parents enjoyed a special Math Edition of Family Friendly Friday where they participated in activities with their students and attended a presentation on K-4 math at Woodland.
