Why Invest in Woodland School

What it means to give at Woodland

Like most independent schools, Woodland depends on the generosity of current families, grandparents, alumni and friends to carry out the mission of the school. We value your gift of time, talent and resources as tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a Woodland education. When you make a contribution of any size, you are joining a community of family and friends who help ensure that we can provide each child with an extraordinary educational experience and maintain the long-term financial health of the school.

Three ways Woodland raises funds

ANNUAL FUND
What We Live By

Each Fall, we launch our Annual Fund, which finances 8% of the operating budget and closes the gap between tuition and the full cost of a Woodland education. The Annual Fund helps keep tuition as affordable as possible, particularly compared with peer schools, and helps Woodland reach more families, maintain its small class size and support our outstanding faculty. If you can only support one campaign this year, please make it the Annual Fund. The amount of money raised and the number of families participating in the campaign are both vital to the school’s finances and, unlike tuition, Annual Fund donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

SPRING GALA AND AUCTION

In Spring, we celebrate our Gala and Auction, an annual event that brings our community together to raise funds for faculty professional development, campus improvements and strategic academic priorities. Together, we support our teachers in fully engaging in their professional growth and the school in making strategic investments in campus and curricular innovation.

CAPITAL INITIATIVES
What We Grow By

Capital initiatives fund specific and larger projects, such as new construction or major renovation. We are currently assessing our immediate and long-term needs.

Corporate matching funds play a vital role in achieving our fundraising goals. All families are encouraged to contact their employers to inquire about matching programs.
