Woodland competes within the West Bay Athletic League (WBAL). Schools participating in this league include Sacred Heart, Harker School, Castilleja, Menlo School, Priory, Keys School, Pinewood, King’s Academy, Crystal Springs Upland, St. Matthews, Eastside Prep, Redeemer Lutheran, Highlands Christian, and Girls Middle School. Games are played both at home and away; home games are played on campus in Woodland's gym or on the athletic field. The league is developmental in nature for grade 4 and becomes increasingly more competitive in grades 5 through 8.
The scheduling of games and practices involves league facility organization, inter-school communication, and other school and resource considerations. Game and schedules may be announced by the WBAL as near as one week prior to the start of competition. For a variety of reasons, games and practices may be rescheduled. Any schedule adjustments or cancellations of practices and/or games will be immediately communicated to parents as the information becomes available. Practice schedules often consist of twice-weekly team meetings; schedules will be announced to athlete's families and posted on the athletic calendar.
