Woodland Summer Adventures 2019

Early Childhood through 8th grade
Woodland School is offering camps for incoming Early Childhood (EC) students through 8th grade students this summer! There will be five weeks of learning, exploring, and creating beginning June 24th through July 26th (no camp July 4th & 5th).
- begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:00pm
- full day options offered on a weekly basis
- JumpBunch with Coach Grant included (for EC & K classes)
- 8th graders have the option of attending morning only or a full day
- no extended care before or after camp
Early Childhood (EC) and Lower School Summer Adventures
Summer Adventures provides age appropriate learning opportunities. This program is designed to prepare your students for a smooth transition into the next grade level while providing plenty of summer fun!
- Ms. Kindal's Creations, Challenges & Games with Coach Schneider & Coach Leslie, and Art with Ms. Lugo
- "Fun Friday" activities- visits from Happy Birds and Wildlife Etc. along with an Ice Cream sundae building day and a Movie with Popcorn!
- two specialty camps: Carpentry & Cooking (See below for more information on Specialty Classes)
- EC Camps are only available to EC students (ages 3 & 4) enrolled at Woodland for the 2019-2020 school year.
- REGISTER FOR THE GRADE LEVEL YOUR CHILD(REN) WILL ATTEND IN THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR.
Middle School Summer Adventures
Weeks 1, 2, and 4 will be filled with daily field trips around the Bay. Themes include Splish-Splash Week, Animal Lovers Week, and Amusement Park Bonanza. Scheduled destinations are Great America, The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Aqua Adventures, and The Marine Mammal Center.
Looking for fun that gets your wheels turning and keeps the summer doldrums at bay? Ms. Fera’s Wild Ride: Design it! Make it! Take it home! Let your imagination be your guide and let the journey begin. Weeks 3 and 5 will be spent with Ms. Fera. Students will expand their critical thinking and problem-solving skills exploring the wonders of the amazing tools available in our Design Lab.
Specialty Classes for Middle School
Carpentry is available in the afternoon for 5th graders Week 3 & 4. Cooking is available to all Middle Schoolers Weeks 1 & 3 in the afternoon. See below for more information on Specialty Classes.
The last day to register is April 19th, this is also the last day to be eligible for refunds. Please remember to REGISTER FOR THE GRADE LEVEL YOUR CHILD(REN) WILL ATTEND IN THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR.

This cooking class is offered from 9am to noon during June 24th-June 28th. The afternoon will be dedicated to Summer Adventures fun!
BAKING BONAZA:
Cooking campers will explore the delicious world of baking in this 5 day summer camp. If your child loves to bake and eat a variety of baked savory dishes and sweet desserts, then this camp will enhance their culinary skills and sweet senses!
The week's sweet recipes include: Snickerdoodle Cookies, Vanilla Cupcakes with Buttermilk Frosting and Sprinkles, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Apple Pie with Custard, Cheesecake, Flan, Coconut Macaroons, Banana and Chocolate Chip Bread, Lemon Bars and Brownies.
The savory recipes are Shepherd's Pie, Pretzels, Garlic Breadsticks, Pigs in a Blanket, Chicken and Veggie Pot Pie, Cheese Pull Apart Bread, Focaccia Bread, Lasagna, Enchiladas and stuffed Phyllo Puff Pastry Bites!

This class will be from 9am to noon during the week of July 8th through 12th. From 1pm-4pm will be dedicated to Woodland's Summer Adventure fun!
PERFECT PIZZAS AND PASTAS:
Learn to create and bake a different pizza and pasta each day of this week's summer camp. Make your favorite recipe, or try experimenting at a new one.
Pizza combinations are exciting and endless such as Summer Meat Lover's Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, 3-Cheese Pizza, Mediterranean Combo or Veggie Delight.
Pasta favorites include Stuffed Manicotti Shells, Lasagna, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Gnocchi or Spaghetti Alla Carbonara.

John Tust is a professional carpenter with 25 years of experience and a "Kids Carpentry" Instructor since 2011. Mr. Tust teaches children the safe-use of woodworking with hand-tools. While building their projects from scratch, students are introduced to concepts of applied math, problem solving, fine motor skills, and empowerment to become independent thinkers. Projects may include boats, clocks, games, trucks, doll furniture, and much more.
