Extended Care & After School Programs
With our Extended Care Program, Woodland School is a vibrant and active place before and after school. This drop-in program is available to all Woodland families. We offer excellent care by trained counselors, most of whom are either current Woodland teachers or alumni.
Morning
Morning care begins at 7:30am and continues to the beginning of school, Monday - Friday. Please note that Extended Care hourly fees apply 7:30am- 8:00am for Kindergarten through Eighth grades and 7:30am-8:30am for Early Childhood students.
After School
After School Extended Care is available after school until 6:00pm Mondays through Thursdays, and 2:00pm- 6:00pm on Fridays for Kindergarten through Eighth grades. For Early Childhood students Extended Care is 3:30pm- 6:00pm Mondays- Thursdays and 2:30pm- 6:00pm on Fridays. Please note that if a student is picked up after 6:00pm, there is a $5 per minute charge.
NOTE: No Extended Care is available on DECEMBER 20th.
During our After School Program, students have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and games, Spelling Bee, Homework Club/ Supervised Study, Arts and Crafts, Building Stations, and also, the amazing optional Enrichment Classes below.
Last day to register for Trimester 2 classes is November 22nd.

Jump Bunch presents a new and fun dimension to the classes already being offered in extended care. Coach Grant brings expertise to over 70 different structured sports and activities, and the children will learn a new one every two weeks, over the 10-week sessions. As an example, Obstacle Course, Flag Football, Chicken Toss, Paddle Ball, Step Aerobics, Hopscotch, Basketball, Volleyball, and many more. These programs are geared towards building confidence, coordination, and encouraging a positive attitude towards sports and fitness.

John Tust is a professional carpenter with 25 years of experience and a "Kids Carpentry" Instructor since 2011. Mr. Tust teaches children the safe-use of woodworking with hand-tools. While building their projects from scratch, students are introduced to concepts of applied math, problem solving, fine motor skills, and empowerment to become independent thinkers. Projects may include boats, clocks, games, trucks, doll furniture, and much more.

Fun is #1 in developmental gymnastics with music, movement challenges, and motivation. Each session is about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Each session is quite engaging and includes regimented instruction, warm-up, strength and flexibility training, tumbling, obstacle course skills development, ball play, and lots of coordinated games and activities for enjoyment.
Conducted weekly, knowledgeable coaches arrive on site with a variety of multi-dimensional equipment including trampolines, rock walls, swing bars, balance beams, vaulting tables, octagons, and so much more in terms of apparatus which lends itself to fitness of both mind and body.
For it is in conjunction with such items that children within a non-competitive success-oriented format progress at their own rate to improve strength, balance, rhythm, flexibility, and overall motor coordination, and above all, build the confidence one needs to thrive in a variety of settings.
As important as providing a program rich in fun and laughter, students shy or otherwise who would not normally participate in such activities develop the courage to achieve that which they had not thought possible.
This class allows youngsters to participate in a program which promotes cooperative interaction and social development grow in a variety of ways, all the while becoming instilled with core values, positive characteristics, and healthy developmental habits that will endure a lifetime.

From grocery shopping tips, storing food, menu planning, prepping, trying out new recipes and ingredients, understanding your culinary interests and senses, cutting to mincing, plating and serving techniques, knife skills, food safety and cleaning up; these cooking classes designed just for kids are the perfect blend of learning professional cooking techniques.

This is a magical classroom in which we aim to create confident and powerful problem-solvers using the alchemy of games, math puzzles and Rubik’s cubes.
Students will learn through fun yet challenging activities of their choice. For example they may learn to solve as many different types of Rubik’s cubes as they want to take on. We also offer sudoku, math sudoku, speed math, abacus and many more brain-building puzzles.
This class will be really fun while giving the students the opportunity to develop their math skills. Without even knowing it, like magic they will develop more patience and confidence in their math abilities....and in so many other areas of life. John Tust is a professional carpenter with 25 years of experience and a "Kids Carpentry" Instructor since 2011. Mr. Tust teaches children the safe-use of woodworking with hand-tools. While building their projects from scratch, students are introduced to concepts of applied math, problem solving, fine motor skills, and empowerment to become independent thinkers. Projects may include boats, clocks, games, trucks, doll furniture, and many more.
