Our Family
Joyful, Inclusive Community
We are a joyful and inclusive environment where the whole student can grow and thrive.
Many Cultures, One Family
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Woodland School reflects the rich mix of backgrounds and cultures found in the Bay Area.
Small by design, the school enrolls about 305 students with families representing 48 different nationalities. In any given week, you may find us celebrating Diwali, Hanukkah, Santa Lucia, Eid, Holi, or Halloween. What each family shares, however, is a deep commitment to providing a top quality education that is globally focused and strengthened by the community’s diversity.
Woodland students are very fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with so many children, parents, and teachers from different cultures, backgrounds and faiths, and the school does an amazing job of celebrating different cultures. This translates into students developing an awareness and appreciation from an early age as to what’s happening in the rest of the world… - Woodland School parent
Throughout the year, students explore storytelling, music, dance, and food across a variety of cultures through their shared experiences and classes. Outside of the school library, WSPA curates a variety of displays highlighting aspects of cultures around the world.
As our world gets smaller, it is essential that our students are able to react to divergent opinions, different cultures, and conflicts with globally competent and empathetic responses that improve, rather than hinder, our relations with one another—be it on an individual or national level—and ultimately enhance the world around us.
