Woodland School is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the Woodland School Board of Trustees, Keith Randall and Zvi Weiss. Their leadership and expertise will be tremendous assets as Woodland sets the course for the future.
Keith Randall received his PhD in computer science from MIT in 1998. He worked for Compaq's System Research Center on a variety of topics including Java virtual machines, compilers, and web graphs. He moved to Google in 2001 and became a tech lead for one of the largest advertising networks in the world, Google AdWords and AdSense. He took some time off to raise his kids and is now back at Google working on the programming language Go.
Keith has two children at Woodland, Alex in the class of 2020 and Mia in the class of 2022.
Zvi Weiss has taught and administered educational programs in a wide variety of formal and informal educational settings. With a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, Zvi continued his education earning a graduate degree in Educational Psychology at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In Israel, Zvi worked as a school psychologist in elementary and preschools, directed educational programming at an institution for persons with developmental disabilities and served in the Israel Defense Force's Behavioral Sciences Division. As an administrator, Zvi has served as the Associate Director of the Bureaus of Jewish Education in both Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. Zvi was on the founding board of Kehillah Jewish High School in Palo Alto, twice co-chairing head of school search committees, was on the founding board and co-chaired the Jewish Family Preschool in San Francisco, served on the boards of two bay area synagogues
as well as the board and executive committee of Jewish LearningWorks in San Francisco. Most recently, he served as the Director of Early Childhood and Family Education at the OFJCC in Palo Alto. Zvi is currently the Head of School at Yavneh Day School in Los Gatos, a K-8 independent school.
Zvi and his wife Debra enjoy traveling and spent a year homeschooling their four children while exploring the seven continents. Zvi's career path continues to focus on his belief in learning that is relevant, creative, individualized and accessible to all, attributes that he sees as being core to the Woodland school's mission. He looks forward to joining Woodland's board of trustees.
