In advance of the celebration of Diwali, several of Woodland's parents joined classrooms on campus to share the Festival of Lights with our students.
Activities included learning about Diwali, building lanterns, making rangoli and enjoying traditional Diwali sweets. Thank you, parents!
Diwali is the Festival of Lights, and celebrates the victory of light over darkness and the triumph of good over evil. Different Hindu families celebrate this festival in their own ways, and the celebrations can be between 1-5 days long. Each celebration centers on gratitude for the lights in our lives: our families, siblings, community, and our privilege to acquire knowledge. Happy Diwali!
