Fall Sports Report

Woodland athletes complete their fall seasons.

Students in grades four through eight have the opportunity to participate in athletics throughout the school year. There are four seasons, each offering a variety of sports. Woodland's teams compete against other independent schools in each sport. During the fall season, Woodland's junior varsity flag football team took on the task of learning the sport and were resilient throughout the season finishing with a win in their final game. The varsity flag football team exemplified teamwork, speed, agility, and tenacity from their first to last game, finishing as one of the best teams in the Silver Division with a 5-2 record. Twelve swimmers competed in three meets, posting quick times, especially in the relay events. The culminating event was the WBAL Championships, where four of the wildcat swimmers recorded their fastest times of the season.  The cross country team of 20 members ran in three races, decreasing their time on the course with each race. Many of our cross country runners are continuing their training during Run Club this winter.  Congratulations, Wildcats, on outstanding fall seasons!
